Hi there everyone,
My name is Brendan and I'm a 20 year old from New York, USA. I've been in a relationship with my girlfriend for three years now, she's been a Canadian citizen since she was born (so she's 20). I'd like to move there in the next few years and eventually have a permanent residence. I've been looking around on the CIC website (as well as reading a few posts from here) and I'm just a little confused on where to start the process and what the best route would be. To give you all a little more background on myself, I'm currently a business student about to receive a two year degree. I don't have too much work experience besides a part-time job as a cashier at a grocery store. I might possibly go to a trade school after I receive my degree, either here or in Canada. I've read that a good route would be to apply as a visitor, try to find a job and receive a work visa, get married, and then apply for permanent residence. Would that be the best route for me? Or am I going about this incorrectly? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
