Where do I send my passport in Brazil?

Hello friends, I received my PPR in Brazil and in the email is informed that I can send my passport either through VAC services OR directly to Visa and Immigration Section - Consulate General of Canada via courier.

I would prefer to send directly, as I don't need to pay for VAC, however have seem different opinions about this. In some blogs, people to use only VAC - never send directly to consulate.

Does anyone in Brazil already chosen the option of sending directly to consulate and was successful? Thanks!
