I submitted my PR application in May, with a letter explaining that I did not have my police certificates becaise 1) I was waiting for the FBI letter and 2) The Israeli government does not release the certificates to the applicant. My Israeli certificate was supposed to go directly to the Canadian Embassy in Tel Aviv.
Today I received a letter from the Buffalo visa office, asking for both certificates. I have finally received my FBI clearance, and will send that in tomorrow. But how can I send in the Israeli certificate, or even verify that it was in fact sent to the Canadian Embassy as requested?
Any guidance would be much appreciated...I'd like to resolve this as quickly as possible!
how did you send the certificate? through a registered mail or courier like fedex? in case the former, you do have the tracking number where you can track down if it was in fact received by the embassy. that way, you can maybe phone in the embassy or thru email that you have send the requirements. it happened to me before but then the embassy was the one who called to ask me if i submitted my requirements already. it took them more than a month to realize that they still dont have my requirements. when i said YES, they asked me when and how. they then said that they will check their mails and that if i didnt receive any call in 30mins time, that its all good. they never called back and im now here in canada.
I don't think I was very clear in explaining the problem.
I applied in April at the COnsulate General of Israel in New York for a Certificate of Good Standing. The consulate sends the request directly to Israel with my identifying information. The Certificate of Good Standing is then either sent to the Canadian Embassy in Tel Aviv, or to an Israeli consulate abroad of my choice.
I had the certificate sent to the Canadian Embassy in Tel Aviv. The problem is that there are no instructions for how to retrieve my certificate from Tel Aviv. So I don't know how to have it transferred to Buffalo.
I have tried contacting both the Tel Aviv embassy and Buffalo visa office by email, but have not gotten any response. I'm very worried that I will not be able to provide Israeli police clearance, and that this will screw up my PR application.
How do I find out where my certificate is, and how do I have it transferred to Buffalo?
