Hi friends
I have sponsored my wife (who is from India), and she got approved. She moved to Canada in the last week of November 2016. She already updated her new Canada address (which is of course my address) with CIC almost immediately. We called CIC in December 2016, and we were told that we should expect to receive the PR card by mid-January 2017 at the latest. Till date, we are still waiting for her new PR card to be arrived.

When we called CIC recently, we are always hearing the message "due to the high volume of calls, your call is not transferred".

Not sure what we have to do now. As per the CIC timeline, we should be receiving the card in about 50 days, which had already passed by. Now, it's more than 70 days.

What do you suggest us to do?

Thank you.

This whole PR card business is really shameful.
It keeps people in limbo for months.
First PR card issuance should be automatic and immediate, since all the eligibility requirements have already been verified prior to landing.

yeah, the way they do it is crap. Great we are a confirmed PR but still can't travel home until the PR card arrives months later. Hard to explain to family. Keep calling CIC. I have called them loads and got through. Just keep trying and memories the numbers you need to press so as soon as the messages start you can skip them. I.e 1 for PR card or whatever. I used to call first thing in the morning.

I recommend calling CIC 8am local time. I always call at this time and the wait time is usually less than a minute!

Thank you for all your response.
It appears that my wife somehow missed the email from CIC last month requesting us to send the PR photos as per the correct specifications. Our bad!

We also happened to call CIC lately, and were advised about sending the photos. We plan to send it this week and hope we are good.

Thanks again friends.

That's what happened to me as well! I almost lost CIC email requesting for two photos in new specifications! So I found the email 40 days after landing and sent the photos last week!

I heard that PR card arrival time is 90 days...!
