My PR application under FSW was rejected on January 23rd. I have not yet received the refund. When could I expect a refund? Should I contact CIC to initiate refund? Is it through the credit card or do they send a cheque?

Sorry to hear that. Would you mind sharing why it was rejected?
If you already paid the RPRF upfront along with your processing fee, you will be contacted by the CIC (if not already along with your rejection letter) about the refund in a few weeks after the decision. Please know that you will only be refunded the RPRF CAD 490 (if you paid upfront) and not the CAD 550 processing fee.

I see, thanks! Good to know your money isn't wasted. If that's all the information you have received, it would probably go back to your credit card. In such cases, the refund it usually initiated right away. The delay may also depends on your credit card, I guess.

If you are requesting a refund, you would have to make a refund account 'different than your CIC account' and request through that. I would initiate it now since its been almost three weeks. This link has all the information you need, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/refund.asp
