June 24,2014 To God be the glory! PR CARD received: August 22, 2014 (exactly 60 days after landing)! Son's PR card arrived August 27, 2014 (exactly 65 days after landing)
I just have a question to ask regarding changing a maiden name to the married name.
all my documents, passport and driver's license including my alberta healthcard are all under my maiden name. We just got an approval (aip and owp) under the spousal sponsorship inland. I am just wondering when will i be able to change my last name.???
Is it after stage 2? I actually want my PR CARD to be under my husband 's last name. Please help! Thanks!

Your PR Card will use the same name that is on your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). The COPR will use the name that is on your passport. If you are going to change your name, you should do so now and submit updated copies of your identity documents to CIC - send them in writing and via courier with the file number for your application clearly indicated. About 30 days after you submit these updated documents, you should order your electronic case notes to confirm they have received the documents. If they do not show receipt, you should submit them again and repeat this process.
If you wait until after Stage 2 is done, your PR card will have your maiden name on it permanently.
I think it is best that your PR card contain your maiden name rather than your marriage name. If you need your drivers licence, health card, SIN to have marriage name, just show your marriage certificiate with your PR card. I think by changing your last name to marriage name before getting your PR card would only delay the process. This also goes for getting your Canadian Passport once you acquire citizenship even with your maiden name attached. Show your canadian citizenship certificate and marriage certificate.
