when "Received_by Visa Office" change for buffalo ,NY

My visa status is "Received_by Visa Office" for buffalo, NY since Jan 20, 2010. When can I expect this to change to next status.

Also, How long do you think it will take to get the PR if everything goes fine?

In my case, it took 7 months since the date of receipt in Buffalo to change to "In Process", no file transfer to any other visa office in the US was involved in the process.

In my case, it took 4 months for my file to be transferred from Buffalo to New York consulate. And then one more month to change to 'In Process'.
