How long is it considered living outside canada. I came to India in may 2021 for my marriage and am still here working from home. I applied for spousal sponsorship and it was received on 04 aug 2021. Am I considered to be living outside canada? I'm a permanent resident.
You’ll need to actually reside in Canada to sponsor your spouse. The fact you applied while not in Canada, you should expect the application to be refused.
I still work for a Canadian company and receive my salary and also own a house in Canada where I live. I'm stuck here because of the flight ban for flights from India to Canada so they should consider my case and not say I'm not living in Canada.

We got the sponsorship approval for.our application. So I think they will still approve your sponsorship if you are outside for sometime as long as you have strong ties to Canada such as a house and job.

Did you put your address in India in the forms? Or did you put your address in Canada even though you were outside when you applied?
Are you still outside? You have been living outside of Canada for almost 6 months. May be your case officer is careless. Who knows? May be you got lucky.

I believe there was a case here relatively recently where someone who'd gone well past the sponsorship stage and then got request for info showing presence in Canada (over some period of time). So I wouldn't see the stages you've got through as proving what you think it does.
But who knows? Share your experience later with others here. Good luck.

You are still at high risk of having your application refused since you didn’t apply from Canada and haven’t been living in Canada during the sponsorship process. You should have not been approved for sponsor eligibility but someone made an error. It’s impossible to know whether you will get lucky and someone won’t realize that you’re out of Canada.
