Not sure if this is already posted: http://www.muchmormagazine.com/2010/12/during-2011-what-will-canadian-immigration-look-like/
Hope, reposting is not so bad, than leaving information in dark.

I have only one concern from that article: "Currently, as soon as a spousal sponsorship is granted they are given permanent residency and as long as they comply with residency requirements they can stay in Canada indefinitely, even if the marriage on which it was granted is no more. CIC is proposing a change to the rules which will include a three year waiting period before a sponsored spouse can become a permanent resident. Similar rules are in place in Australia, United Kingdom and the United States."

Damn, if thats the case I am not sure how, I will get my wife here after getting married! :( Will have to wait and watch...

Thanks to ipevo for providing this information...

Hi

By this they mean that your wife will not get permanent residence straightaway but she will be able to live with you on some other visa like temporary residence thats what they are doing now in Australia, wife gets Temporary Residence for 2 yrs first and if marriage goes ok then they will give permanent residence. Dont worry you will be able to bring your wife with you.

Cheers

Thanks! He He He ;D....I am not married yet. Will start the process in Aug 2011, hopefully. Getting bored with the bachelor life.

If the marriage breaks down due to lets say in a typical case of infidelity by the Sponsorer....what do you think might happen to the sponsoree ??? You think they will get removed from Canada for no fault of theirs? I feel Canada might resort to a conditional PR instead of a TRP, and make the right decision with a Tribunal Hearing in such cases.

Any other thoughts?

Even than i believe that sponsoree won't be able to extend their stay after first 3 years unless if they apply for any other category like student or TWP. That's how it is in UK and other European countries (to the best of my knowledge).
