Hi everyone,
IRCC asking for my spouse sponsorship application:
"Evidence of sponsors residency in Canada from the time of submitting this application to date."
what kind of evidence Do they want for residency?

And since you haven't been living in your Canadian address, you should update that to your oversea address since you've been living there for 6 months.
IRCC and CBSA can and will share info. I saw this first hand when I crossed the border while my application was in progress. If you're a PR as I assume the original poster is, best to realize that if you leave Canada while sponsorship is in progress IRCC can easily find out and I'm guessing based on this post and others, does check.

Yes. As has been discussed multiple times here (by sponsor-PRs who wish to leave and continue the sponsorship, either for shorter or longer periods) - it is a policy and it is enforced. It's not clear how strictly it's enforced, nor how often or at what stages IRCC checks, etc. And while there are plenty of sponsors who say (claim) they were abroad for longer or lengthy periods, that doesn't mean there is no enforcement. (The fact that many drivers speed does not mean you can speed with expectation of not getting speeding tickets).

I have a feeling its automaticly done now if a PR leaves while a PR is in progress. Too many people are getting caught so don't leave more than 1-2mos.

They did tell you, it was in the requirements to be a resident to sponsor (link above).
Were you in Canada when you originally applied?
At any rate, simple answer is - tell the truth; show that you have returned to Canada and reside, work there, etc; be prepared that your sponsorship could be cancelled and you may have to re-apply.
