what is a national identity document for someone is the USA?

Could be your passport if you are the citizen..

Can be your valid driving license from any state of the USA..

Any of your valid photo ID with the ID number, your photo and address on it provided by the Government can work..

US Citizens don't have Identity cards, you just put N/A.

The Identity card issued by Malaysia hasn't got an expiry date so basically it expires when we expire! But my Driver's license has expired in March 2011. The new Generic form refuses to Validate it stating that I cannot use an expired ID. Please help. What should I do

sorry to bump up this topic, I'm having the same question, I'm from mexico and Im just wondering which document to add, since we have an electoral card, a population number, and passport, just wondering if the passport is always valid for any country??

I am aplaying for visitor visa online from Austria. I am bosnien citizen, student here in Vienna. But i do not know what is national identity number. So I write no. I hope this is not mistake, that will embassy use to refuse my visa.I trying to visit friend becaaue of wedding. Thanks
