I am May2011 applicant, and my IELTS results would be expired by now, as its almost two years since I took iELTS. Will I be asked to submit fresh IELTS, or the one submitted earlier would do no matter how long the process takes !!
Secondly, how can one get an extra IELTS copy of the result. I mean if someone sends the original to CIC, and later needs an extra copy for some other purpose, can he get one and how. Please share if someone has done it from Riyadh. Thanks

You don't need to retake the test if it was valid at the moment when you submitted your application. However, as I remember British Council doesn't provide score reports that are more than two years old. You need to request the results soon before it expires.

Thanks dear. Second part of my query is not specific to my case. It's just a general enquiry...that if someone wants an extra result copy, can he get it and how !

Unfortunately each candidate is issued only one hardcopy of IELTS results and they aren't replaceable. But the test center can mail up to five copies of results for free within two years from the test date to employers/legal entities etc. There's also an option to verify the result online by the candidate code.

So you can't have an extra copy in hand. I had read somewhere that there is someway you can get extra copy as well by paying around 60 SR and courier charges...but want someone to confirm it. I am talking about Riyadh area.

Are you sure about that? I got 3 hard copies (2 green and 1 white). I even asked on the forum which one should I submit with the FSW application.

I am not sure about the current policy but almost about 4 years back when our case was in process,British Council Riyadh did offer that facility. You best bet should be to contact British Council Riyadh to verify.
Good Luck!

Actually, it is technically possible to get another hard copy of the IELTS results because I personally know people who have done it, but it can involve some whining and complaining to get it.
Since the results are stored on computer systems in the UK (the British Council are a registered charity in England, Scotland and Wales), they are subject to UK law and the Data Protection Act. Under the act you demand, in writing, all personal information held about you on their computer systems, which I believe includes the results.
They're not allowed to refuse to send you those results in writing - they can charge an admin fee for doing so but they are in a dangerous place with the Data Protection Act if they outright refuse.
When I advised someone to write to them quoting the Data Protection Act, they were able to get a duplicate copy of their results, so it may be an avenue worth persuing if you really need another copy.
Although I honestly don't see why they don't just have an automatic mechanism for paying a small admin fee and getting another certificate sent out.
Wayne.
