What if I can't get my car imported in time?

I guys, my anxiety is through the roof again! :-[ I landed April 2 and technically should have my car imported by July 2. What happens if I don't get it done by then? Is the 90 days to import strict? I will be importing to Ontario if that makes a difference.

I don't know what they are like with enforcement of the grace period, but if you import otherwise, you end up paying around 20% of the value of the vehicle (6.1% import duty, 13% HST).

The 90 days is for RIV, not CBSA. Contact RIV if you are unable to complete part I of the import in the 90 days. They will extend the time for you. I know, because I did this and had my time extended for 6 months while my car finished it's 'hibernation' for the winter
