I am currently residing in Canada with an expired PR card and had not met the 730 days requirement and I applied for a renewal under H&C with supporting documents for my case but I heard it will take a very long time.

You can't really do that unless you withdraw the H&C application extremely soon after you originally submitted it. By applying under H&C, you're essentially locking yourself into this path.
