What does "exchange" of drivers license mean ?

Dear

I know that if I bring valid driver license and authentication letter from native country then I may be eligible for the full G test and subsequent license.

What is meant by 'exchange' of native drivers license ? does it mean i have to surrender or give that license to canada motor authority and then will get canadian license as replacement ?

OR I just have to show it to them ?

You hand over your existing licence and it's replaced. You don't get to keep both.

That sounds strange !

If i have to travel frequently between my native country (Pakistan) and Canada and i need drivers license for both, then why do i have to surrender my Pakistan's license ?

That's the way it works... In Pakistan, you would use your Canadian licence. I had to surrender my UK licence when I was issued my Canadian one. It's then sent back to the issuing authority.

I don't think you need to give up your licence, check if the embassy can issue you a letter indicating that you have a valid driver licence with all the details instead of giving up your actual licence. (simply like a translation even if the driver licence is in English) . I know It worked for few people. And even thought, what would the Ministry of Transportation take your foreign driver licence for? only if your coming from within Canada (such Quebec or other province, then YES)

you are right since they can not these licence not integrated in the Canadian database

I guess so. However, in many countries it's illegal to possess two driving licences from different jurisdictions. Caveat Emptor...
