What does Eligibility / security /criminality /medical means in CEC ?

I ordered GCMC from CIC, they say

Assessments

Eligibility: Not Started
Security: Not Started
Criminality: In Progress
Medical: No Started

I see due dates : June 4th 2013

Applied in Feb2012 and received AOR: June 2012

What does it mean? how long they should take process it?

Plz help me, thanks

As per your notes, they have not worked much on your file. Looks like the criminality check is taking a long time. The due date means that the assigned VO has to complete the assessments before June 2013.

I would suggest that you talk with your local MP and register a case-specific inquiry through the MP. I have heard that it does help speed up the process.

Sorry, I kinda overlooked your original question.

The terms are quite self-explanatory, however I will give it a go and will try to explain as much as a I understand.

Eligibility: Whether you meet the requirements or not ... 1 year work exp (2 year if you are a foreign worker) in a skilled position, IELTS, Univeristy degree if you are a foreign student etc.

Security: As I understand, they do an assessment that if you are given PR status, will you pose any security risks to Canadians. I dont know the exact criteria. Security encompasses various types of securities ... physical, financial, assets etc. Perhaps credit check falls under here. Basically they want to assess if you'd be a law-abiding citizen or not.

Criminality: Do you have any criminal record etc.

Medical: Do you have any contagious diseases or not? Are you healthy? Will you become a huge burden on the health system in Canada etc.

As I discussed with lawyer, he says don't worry Eligibility, Medical & Security shouldn't take long time, they process it soon.

I wonder whether my application was accepted under CEC or not, what I understood is my file was screened and just received AOR.

And Not been accepted yet, how would I know this?

Usually they should do eligibility first and then do others...

Where as in my case, they are doing Criminality first, does this depends where I belong to ?

I am Indian resident

i am not sure what else they will do criminal checks even after submit indian PCC.
