what does defer mean ?

hey all !!

i was preparing for sept 13 intkae, everything is done like medical, fee, etc etc ... but just due to delay in receiving GIC details, my consultant said that they will defer it to next intake. My question is that what does it mean ? what new process will start in this deferring process ?

if u have been late they will give you visa for next JAN intake
