I see that "PhD, or Master’s, AND at least 17 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study" results in 25 points.

What does "17 years of full-time study" mean? Is it from kindergarten all the way until Master's/PhD? Or from 1st grade?

Check the guide EG7000 ir the website http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7TOC.asp
- it means secondary or post secondary education (not kindergarten or elementary school).

It is like you have to say 12+3+2 will give u full points.I was in this situation and I got full points.

12th from India+3 years degree from India and then 2 years masters from USA.I got full points for 17 years of education.

Thanks,
Trick

I'm assuming that this means from the 1st grade onwards (post-elementary, as in the link you included) - please correct me if I am wrong.

I have an BS (from a top 4-year program in the states) and an MS (from a top 1-year program in the states). So 5 years of college+grad school and 12 years before that (1st-12th grade) would mean 17 years of full-time equivalent study. Am I correct?

As far as documentation is concerned, would I need to provide only proof of college + grad school (transcripts, certificates etc), or high school as well?

Thanks for the help.

EDIT: @ Trick, what type of documentation did you provide re: education? I'm fretting about this, because I can't seem to find my high school diploma certs...

I'm wondering about this myself. They mention secondary and post-secondary, but according to the Canadian definition, secondary starts from grade 7, which means that, you would have to complete 11 years of post-secondary education to get the full 25 points ??? ?

Yes,

U should provide copies of school certificates and everything. If u do not that will only make them more suspicious, will ask for documents which will only delay processing of your documents.

Didn't you submit your documents to the college in US.Go and speak with your college in USA.They might let you copy those documents if u explain your situation to them.

Thanks,
Trick
