Guys, we received a weird email from CIC (and it's legit). The Hong Kong Visa Office email us and informed us that our application is currently at the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Sydney, NS. We are Family Class-Outland applicants and we have already received sponsorship approval in late August. In the sponsorship approval email, CIC told that that our application has been transferred to the Hong Kong Visa Office. We never received AOR2 from the HKVO, however.
Now what I don't get is, why is our application at the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Sydney, NS? I did a carpet search and it seems like it's an intake office for skilled worker applicants? We are family class. Did anyone else ever encounter this?
i have no personal experience with this, but i know the London Visa Office (seemingly randomly) diverted a batch of applications to the Mississauga office. has anyone else on the Hong Kong board had their applications sent to the Sydney office? it's possible the Hong Kong office is dealing with a backlog.. if you seem to be the only one, i would suggest sending a Case Specific Enquiry to the CIC just to make sure a mistake wasn't made that could cost you a significant amount of time!

Thank you, I already asked on the HK board and no one had this issue. I tried submitting case specific inquiries but 1. they are incredibly slow at replying and 2. we never received an AOR2 from the HKVO so we don't even have a UCI for the applicant.

You don't need a UCI for the applicant to place an inquiry. Just use urs or the file number.
It seems that they read all the emails but to chose to reply to what they think needs to be replied to.
No harm to try your luck
