Hi, posted previously but think my post was a bit of a mouthful! We are potentially heading across the border on a 3 day weekend this weekend from BC. We have first stage sponsor approval from an outland spousal application. This will provide me with another 6 months (UK passport doesn't need visa) in which my second approval should come through. I don't really want to pay $300 to extend visa for myself and my 2 kids, if we are planning to go across anyway. Any thoughts? I shouldn't have issue coming back in, as I don't require a visa and have sponsorship paperwork, right? Thanks for any info

You shouldn't have any problems if you are from a visa-exempt country. BUT it is always up to the officer. You should bring proof of sponsorship approval and even better, also proof of health insurance and a bank statement to prove that you have enough funds. When I entered Canada last year they wanted to see all of this.
