I think we may not need to provide the proof of settlement funds (bank statements/letters etc) if we are nominated by a province and sending our documents to the CIC Buffalo. I do not see it mentioned anywhere in 'helpful hints for provincial nominess' and the checklist (there is a check box only for federal route people). Have you guys noticed that?

For new forum members, please don't just follow what I said here. I am just giving my opinion. You should check with the CIC Buffalo for the exact answer. Just for your information, I have provided bank statements while I sent my application package to Buffalo even though I was nominated by the AINP.
At http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/apply-who.asp it says near the bottom of the page:
You must also show that you have enough money to support yourself and your dependants after you arrive in Canada. You can find more information on the funds you will need in the Related Links section at the bottom of this page.
The related link takes you to the page for the funds for federal skilled worker. I do not know if they actually apply it to PNP nominees though but they do say it on there.
I think we need not send bank statements while applying to CIC....

Bank statement/funds are so important in applying PNP. Canadian Goverment is very concerned about their people, they think in advance. How if a person enter in Canada and did not get job as soon as possible, this person will be goverment's burden. This is the reason why Canada required
funds upon applying to PNP.
In additional, before you enter canada an immigration officer will ask for your bank certificate/funds.
looks like the checklist changed. it originally had a box under Provincial Nominee for Proof of Funds. The checklist that I received was version 01-2009. the one on the link is dated 04-2009. looks like Proof of Funds is not anymore needed for PNP. this is truly good news for new applicants.
Yes, you need to read the information on the different PNP's to see what options there are. Most of the PNP's have a "skilled worker" option for people who have a job offer from an employer in the province or who are already working in the province. Most also have a "graduate" option for somebody who had studied in the province and has a job offer. Most also have some kind of "business/investor" option. Some also have a "family" option. A couple have "farmer" options.
You can see all the PNP's at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/apply-who.asp
I check the link already, Family and General Stream need letter of support for relatives live in canada. The employer direct stream needs employer. There is no category where she can apply that never asked for letter of support or need an employer? or she has already work in canada?
