Hey guys, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with an issue I'm having with Immigration. On Sept 9th I received a letter stating that we have met the requirements but only today I received another letter asking for the below unobtainable documents.
My 15 yr old daughter has accompanied me and my Canadian husband (he has been approved to sponsor us) to Winnipeg but I was unable to obtain a declaration from her biological father as his whereabouts are unknown and he has been out of the picture since she was 3. We were not married and he just up and left therefore there are no custody documents, which immigration are also requesting. I have written them an explanation several times and yet they keep asking for these documents. I am at a loss now so I would be grateful for any help if anyone in this group knows anyone or has been through this same thing? Please and thank you for any help

Canada is complying with international laws that require specific documents to be provided in order for a minor child to be approved for immigration and be moved permanently to a different country. I don't believe exceptions are granted - but I may be mistaken. At this point you should look into hiring a good Canadian immigration lawyer asap to help you. It's possible you may have to go through the court system in your home country to be awarded sole custody of your daughter before the application can be approved.
