hi guys, this is the scoop.
My mom wanted me to marry my cousin so we talked to each other once while i was in Canada and she was in Djibouti in march 2011. I came to Djibouti November 4 2011. She was performing hajj (Islamic pilgrimage), she came back November 23. We saw each other November 25 2011 face-to-face for the first time. Then we had 3 more meetings, and during the last one, I asked her was she getting forced to marry me. She said no, and that she wanted to get married to me. So on December 2 2011 we got married. We went to Dire Dawa, Ethioipia December 12 2011-february 12 2012. we went to Addis Abbaba for 2 week and Harare for 1 day. I went back to Canada march 1 2012. I filed the sponsorship[ June 11 sent to Kenya august 2012 and on the interview queue since October. I went to be with my wife from September 24-2012-december 20 2012. We also went to Egypt for 2 months. now im back in Canada since Christmas day and still on interview queue. I checked off that my marriage was arranged, because i thought since my om set us up, and our parents planned the wedding. That made me say it was arrange. I wrote on the application that we are cousin and that we've known each other for 7 days before we got married. So was my marriage arranged even though we both agreed that we wanted to get married despite, what our parents want.

It is arrange marriage, otherwise you would need a long time proofs of contact before marriage. No one get married in 7 days without it being arranged. Love marriage doesn't work so quick lolzz. But don't worry it don't have any negative impact, you just have to prove to them that it is genuine marriage and you guys are in contact regularly after marriage.

Good luck :)

It looks like an arranged marriage as your mom wanted you to get married, but it doesn't mean that it is not acceptable or a bad thing - in some cultures it is rather the contrary. So if you have answered in your application that the marriage was arranged, then you should keep the same "version" - if asked during the interview. But you can also explain that you met up because it was your parents' desire, but also really got along with your future wife, and it quickly turned into a "love marriage" - and you spent time together after getting married etc. It just shows that arranged marriage and love marriage are not necessarily "against" each other - but it can be a little of both, and if it works out for you and your wife, that's great!
in the interview, the IO will try to assess if the marriage is genuine and follows your cultural tradition ( and in that sense, if it's in your cultural norm to have an arranged marriage, it's a "good point" for the IO), and he will also try and see if you have a genuine relationship. So the fact that you spent 2 months in December 2011-Feb 2012, and then again 3 months later on in 2012 is a good thing. Make sure that you have the proofs ( or your wife as she is the one being interviewed) that you spent 3 months together after filing the application, as the IO doesn't have that information - and it will help in the interview for sure ( if you were in a fake marriage, you probably wouldn't have spend 3 months together ). So - make sure your wife has all the proofs of the time you spent together ( pictures, plane tickets for you, hotel bookings if you were staying in the hotel etc), and she brings them to the interview, and she will be fine!
Good luck,
Sweden

okay thanks for the responses. I know in our culture its normal for the parents to set up the marriage. I wrote all this on the application, even though some friends and families told me to cut it out. When i sent the RPR fee I added the plane tickets and conformation in Egypt that my wife is pregnant. My wife wears niqab, so all of my pictures she has it on. Is that a problem? I know they cant see her face but who else would I be posing with in front of the pyramids (lol). Thankfully I made sure they knew the whole truth. Guess I'ma just wait for the interview. thanks guys and good luck on all of yours
