Want to pause my study in Canada and return to my home country for a few years, will there be any trouble if re-apply for study permit in the future?

For some reson I may need to pause my study in Canada and go back to my home country for a while, and return to Canada within the college's maximum years of study limit.

My current study permit will expire for sure, and I think I need to re-apply for the study permit when I need to return to Canada in the future

The question is, will the application for the 2nd study permit be more difficult or triggered some kind of security check if I pause my study and leave Canada for a long time?
