I am the principal applicant but I do not want to take my kids to canada. Me and my husband want to go initially and want to call kids after 10-11 months. So can we go without kids.

Your kids can land later provided their visas have not expired and their passports are still valid. The last date to land would be the date that comes first for either of these. Hope you are aware that the visa expiry is also linked to the medicals done date - For eg., if you did medicals in December 2009 and your visa was issued in February 2010, you will only get time till December 2010 and not till February 2010.
So, it is unlikely that you will have 10-11 months to call your kids before expiry of visas unless you land as soon as you get your visas.
Adding to what Charmeuse mentioned, you can do the landing first with the kids or you can complete the landing first and ensure that your kids complete the landing before the visa expiry date, they can go back after completing the landing.

i am pakistani national living in uk but my wife is not with me she is in pakistan. i applied for snip in jun 09 and still waiting for noomination. just wondring what shall i do upon reciept of nomination.can i add her when i apply in canadian embassy in uk and she could have her medical don in pakistan or she have to be in uk with me for medical and after that for visa.
is that any chance ithat i can add her in my application and her case could be reffer to islamabad embassy,what is your expert advice. because it would be quit dificult for me to bring her here.what would they do i mean can they bring passport from paksitan through tne embassys post.because as you know its not legal to carry a passport to a difrent country.
