Waiting PPR, Second Semester Online or Leave of Absence

Hey Guys,

I applied for my SP on 25th July and received AIP on 3rd Sep and started online classes from 23rd Sep. Now First semester is complete and second semester is about to start from 1st Feb.

When started studying online after AIP, all said preference would be given to who are studying online but because of money IRCC is giving preference to future intakes.

I am going to apply leave of absence instead of starting second semester as per the PGWP rules, 150 days leave of absence is acceptable.

There is no point of starting second semester from India without PPR, people are waiting since March without any decision and Wave 2 of Covid in Canada is not encouraging and looks like they will further delay our PPR until they control the spread and inoculate most of the population, which will be Q3(Sept).

If we start second semester and still got refusal, might be issue with Sem 1 fees. If we don't get PPR by the end of second semester than also we have to apply leave of absence it might be too late by then. Each semester in canada is at most for 4 months... With the current trend doesn't look we might hear good news soon.

I recently ordered my GCMS and received yesterday and they have not even started my stage 2 process despite being complete file.

It doesn't make sense to me to continue my studies from India until I get PPR.

What do you guys think?

We are in the same boat. I also got my GCMS note, recently. How you could understand your second stage assessment was not started?

For me, no notes after 3rd Sep when I received AIP and nothing has updated post that date, not even medical...

I have also studied my 1st semester online after getting an AIP and I am also going to do exactly the same. No point of studieng 2nd semester online without a final decision. I am also going to defer until I receive a final decision.

People who deffered their 1st semester even after receiving AIP got final decisions and we who studied online after AIP are waiting for almost a year. It doesnt make any sense at all.

Good! The more students don't opt for sec sem the better.. automatically it will impact colleges bottom line and eventually to Canada economy...

I was just doing the rough calculation...

40000 Students(min waiting) X $20000(CAD)(min spent)
=$800000000 CAD (800 million dollars) minimum.

This much money they are holding up and still depression and frustration for all of us..
If we do second sem, then in 3-4 months, we have to arrange for more money for 3rd sem... There bottom line is intact.. so why they will worry..

Same bro. In my case ive completed my first semester online at ICM manitoba, then got my visa refused after which now i am thinking to defer and re-apply while there are financial risks since there are no refunds.

Did you receive first stage approval last year? What is the meaning if ICM Manitoba? Is it a public school?

No i didn’t receive the Aip and Icm is a college in Manitoba.

Do i need to notify ircc about my deferment from September 2020 to May 2021 intake? As my acceptance letter is valid till may 2021.
