I have been waiting for my visa for 3months. I haven't heard anything at all, im worried..
'received a letter from visa section (Makati) immigration application package last sept. 23, 2009
and dropped my passport last October 06, 2009.

Is there anyone knows how long will it takes?

many thanx..

Godbless All !

What kind of visa are you waiting for? How did you apply? Are you being sponsored by someone or is it a different application (like skilled worker for example)? What visa office - I'm guessing Manila?

Why does it take that long??? I've been waiting for my visa over 1 month. I emailed them twice but there is no response.

Family class applications usually take a lot more than just a month or two...

they usually do not reply to emails while application is within timeline limits. which visa office you are dealing with?

You haven't hit the minimum for 20% of spousal which is 4 months. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/05-fc-spouses.asp#asia

We have same problem with Visa Office in Manila. Take my application for example. I'm still waiting it until now. It will be one year this month since it was forwarded by CIC- Mississauga to Visa Office Manila for further processing. The latest update of my application is I was advise to pay for Right of Permanent Residence Fee which is C$490. I paid it already and sent the receipt as instructed on the same day I received the letter.

As of now, you have nothing to do but to wait. You can't follow-up ur application once it's not exceed on the 6 months timeline processing period.

Just keep us update with regards to ur application.

ok thanks for reply, which previously my cousin, also sponsored spouse, took only 3 months

Yeah, some were so lucky to have their visa. Actually, it's a case to case basis though but still a long agony for us whose waiting for it.

we have the same time line rusty we dropped our passport last Oct 29 they started processing our application last October 16. I've been waiting for my visa also. It's really frustrating but we cannot do anything but wait. Good luck to all of us.

Your cousin was very lucky. :) Unfortunately that doesn't happen very often.

the processing times mainly depend on the background check. they make more deep check on male applicants and on those who spent longer than 6 months in other countries.

I used to work in a luxury ship and i've been to several countries. will it affect my application (background checking). I used to live in Canada also with a tourist visa which was extended several times. We were married in Canada in year 1993 and I stayed in Canada for 2 years. Will they require me to get a police clearance from the RCMP?
I hope that my application will be approved with out hassles.
