WAIT TIME Question

Hey all!

Quick question about the wait times for common law immigration.

My American partner and I have just sent in our application to CPC-mississauga this past week. I know right now the wait time for sponsorship approval is at least 47 days.

According to this website, it will take at least 30 months for my partner's app to get processed in New York once it's transferred? Is that true? I didn't think it would take a minimum of 2 years for common law application from USA to Canada.

No, your application will be processed in Ottawa. All Outland US applications are processed through Ottawa.

So to clarify - for question #4 for the applicant - Immigration Office requested for the processing of your application- we should have put Ottawa, correct? Because it says 'choose the visa processing office closest to your country of residence ' - which would be NYC for my partner.

Yes, but not to worry. CPC-Mississauga will know to send it to Ottawa.
