HI Everyone,

So I have my Temporary working Visa and it expired. I also applied to renew but it got refused and I got a Voluntary Departure form Immigration. And I complied and left Canada within a week, this was 2011 by the way.
Now married, my wife and I want to explore migrating to Canada via Express Entry or even Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program.
I am pretty sure it would affect the process but is it even worth trying? I mean will it be refused right away when they see my record or will it not have any bearing if we apply?
I just do not want to waste time and money if it is instantly refused.
Thank you

Did you actually receive a Departure Order? The letter IRCC typically send along when they refuse an application and ask you to leave is not a Departure Order. And as long as you left in a timely manner, you are fine. Obviously you would have to declare all of this when you submit an application next time.

If you indeed received a Departure Order, see this

Yes, Left Canada a week after receiving the letter.
Thank you.
