Need help regarding visitor visa ,my mother-in-law is currently in canada on visitor visa ,her 6 months stay will expire in march and her visa validity is going to expire in november.
Now the problem is ..we want to extend her stay for another 1 year but her visa is going to expire before 1 year..so can we apply for vistor visa first and then apply for extenstion?
can you please suggest.
Both the different. If she needs to travel back to Canada, then she would the visa (TRV). To extend the stay, she can just submit the visitor extension request.
Sorry..Actually we want to extend her stay for 1 year and visa validity is for 8 months ..can we request for extending stay and apply for visa with in canada,is there an option ??
please suggest.

Yes, as I mentioned visa is required only for entry. If she is not planning to go out and come back to Canada, visa (TRV) extension is not required. She can just submits the stay extension (visitor record extension) and stay until the decision.
