I know this is off the topic question but I really believe that someone might be able to help me clear my query..
My brother wants to go back home for a vacation.. His program is ending in April but he has student visa till 2015 (he changed the course when he came here)
Now my question is Can he go and come back within a month after completion of his study.. Study Permit and Visa valid till 2015 or should he wait and apply for PGWP and then TRV and then go..
I don't think there would be a definite answer to your question. All depends on the officer in the border, he will definitely asks about his program and until when he wants to stay in Canada. If he then suspects he will send your brother to the immigration section for more question. Your brother can say he is back in Canada to attend his graduation ceremony and it is better he won't give up his place and he can show that he has a place to go here in Canada.
Anyways I was in your brother's shoes and did not risk it. I waited till I got my PGWP and then got a job and then went for vacation. But maybe I was too conservative.
Once he finishes his school. By right, he has to surrender the study permit because he is no longer a student.
As Ferna states; best to apply for PGWP and go back ^^, make sure you have a re entry visa too if you need one to re-enter Canadaaaaaaaaaa
