Good evening Sir/Madam,

My mom got her visitor visa back then when there was no need for biometrics. Her visa is expiring this year In September, 2020. If she comes here, would she face any biometrics related problems?

Also, is it possible if I apply a new visitor visa right now like this month even if her current visa is expiring in September ? Please advise . Thank you

No.

It's early, so definitely possible it would be refused because her current one is still valid for many months.

Hello,
Thanks for the quick respond. One of my friend, he applied for renewal of her mom’s visitor visa like a month before expiry and her mom got visa after 3 months. It took lot of time. I don’t have his contact anymore. So don’t know the whole story. Is it okay if I apply visa like 3 months before expiry or it has to be like a month before expiry?

If visa doesn’t come on the right time, is there anything a person can apply to stay until new visa arrives ? Please advise .

Thank you

3 months should be fine.

The TRV validity has nothing to do with status in Canada. As long as she maintains status, she can be in Canada legally with an expired TRV.
