Hello Everyone,
I am in Canada since last 1 year on my work permit, valid till Mar 2021.
I have recently got married(3 months back) in my native country India.
I filed a visitor visa for my wife(outside Canada) to accompany me here till tenure of my work permit. Visitor visa has been refused by stating the reason 179b.
I wanted to understand which visa category would be better to apply for wife from outside Canada.
Should I apply for SWOP or reapply for visitor Visa.
If anyone had any situation like this. Please suggest. Thanks.

What all you need to apply for SOWP? Can you also apply if the person in Canada is a student or only apply after completing study?

You can apply for it even when you are a student. The document check list is available on the web.

Does it make any difference in decision when you apply?
Hi everyone,
I have a similar situation. I married 7 years ago. My wife and my 02 daughters are outlanders. I am in Canada on study permit with 10 months validity. I have below 03 options:
1. Apply for TRV for my family on the basis of my study permit
2. Apply for SOWP for my family on the basis of my study permit
3. Wait for a year and then apply for TRV for my family on the basis of my PGWP.
