Visitor visa to attend conference while waiting for PR

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone could give me a light here or at least some directions and I know a fair bit can still happen in the meantime.

I'm a March AOR applicant waiting patiently for any action on my process(Currently on Medicals passed).

I'm flying to US and Canada in October/November. I have a Conference in Seattle and then i plan to spend a couple weeks visiting some friends in Toronto. I don't need a visa, being Australian, although I require an eTA(electronic Travel Authorization).
Could it affect my application if the outcome does not come before the trip? Should I be concerned in any way??

I know there's still 2.5 months for the Conference but I need to organise the eTA..
