Hi,
I got a rejection letter today for my visa application (for a 2 week tourist visitor trip) to Canada from India. The reason given is as below:
"Given economic conditions, employment prospects, considering your travel history, economic establishment and family ties, I am not satisfied that you would respect the terms of your admission as a temporary resident in Canada".
I wanted to Visit Canada for meeting with Client and my colleagues in Canada.
I had given details of my Bank statement (with sufficient balance), passport details (which includes old passport and gives details of my past visit to Belgium for 2 weeks, China for 1 month and Dubai for a week), form 16 details which gives tax details for last 3 years, letter of invitation from my Canada counter part. I don't understand the reason why it got rejected.
7 of our colleagues from India applied for the VISA. 5 of them got the VISA and 2 of us got rejected for the same reason as mentioned above.

If I go through the reason for refusal:
"Given economic conditions, employment prospects, considering your travel history, economic establishment and family ties, I am not satisfied that you would respect the terms of your admission as a temporary resident in Canada".
Given economic conditions - I have given bank statement with sufficient amount in it.
Employment prospects - I had given last 3 years form 16 and I had given invitation letter through my company counter part. I did not add salary slip details as my agent did not specifically tell me to do so. Could that be the reason for rejection.
Travel history : I had visited 3 countries in recent past with maximum stay of 1 month. I had visited Dubai one week before I made the application. Could that be the reason for rejection.
Family ties : I had clearly mentioned in the family information forms that my family will not travel with me.
Please let me know if any other information is required.
It's somewhat unusual that seven employees intend to visit the same client simultaneously.
1. Did you explain why it was imperative for you to meet the client?
2. Was the reason for your visit different/the same as that of your colleagues?
3. Did you submit evidence to demonstrate you have business interactions with the client?

IMO, there are a whole bunch of documents which you had not submitted. Not sure how five of your colleagues were granted visas if they submitted similar documents as yours.
1. What documents did you submit? Your? Your employer? Your Canadian host?
2. Was the two weeks/ visit only for business meetings and/or for tourism?
3. How long have you been employed by the same employer?
4. What strong ties can you prove as an individual? Property/land ownership + your financials + dependent family, etc?
5. Is this trip being paid for by your employer? Or by the Canadian host? Or you?
What documents did you submit? Your? Your employer? Your Canadian host? - I had attached the following
Invitation letter from Canadian Host which included the details about my company, my stay details, hotel details etc.
Income Tax returns for last 3 years
Photos,
Bank Statement
2. How long did you intend to visit? The invitation letter and the filled up VISA form gave the details about the stay for two weeks with dates
3. How long have you been employed by the same employer? I plan to add the certificate received from company on completion of 5 years. Also I will add salary slip for last 6 months
4. What strong ties can you prove as an individual? Property/land ownership + your financials + dependent family, etc? I plan to add property papers owned by me and my father
5. Is this trip being paid for by your employer? Or by the Canadian host? Or you? The trip is being paid by my employer. The Canadian host will not bear the cost of trip. This was clearly indicated in the invitation letter
I plan to re-apply and add following additional documents as mentioned above. Please suggest if any other document needs to added.
Regardless of the documents which you intend to submit, the key questions for a Business TRV would still remain the same:
1. Did you explain why it was imperative for you to meet the client?
2. Was the reason for your visit different/the same as that of your colleagues?
3. Did you submit evidence to demonstrate you have business interactions with the client?
And, considering a delegation of 7-8 employees who are visiting for the same purpose, you would need to prove you have reasons to visit/why it is imperative for you to visit along with your colleagues
We all are from different disciplines/areas and each one of us has to provide expertise in their area. One person cannot fill for other. This is the reason company why is sending us. Since the application is for individual person, we have mentioned the reason of travel as meeting with our counter part in Canada.
I will elaborate the details in the re-application.
