Sorry if this is repeated post here but have anyone done any visitor visa recently for their parents/brothers/sisters? I am asking keeping the latest India-Canada situation on visa's. I am thinking of doing visitor visa for my brother and his spouse. But not sure what is latest on this. I am a Canadian citizen.

They can apply. Canada never stopped processing visas. It may just take longer than the posted processing times. No sense in delaying a submission. You being a Canadian is not relevant as they are the ones applying.

No such thing as sponsoring. You can write a letter of invitation. They need to show their funds, travel history, ties to home country and reasons to travel. In your letter, you can stay that they are staying with you. You can include your funds/bank accounts but IRCC may only consider their funds. It raises flags that they cannot afford to visit Canada.

Sorry, wrong choice of words. Yes, I meant I sending letter of invitation. I thought either side (me or them) can show funds for the visit. Didnt knew it would be a red flag. Thanks.
