Visitor Visa - from a visa exempt country while PR in process

My PR file is in process. I am from a visa exempt country and would like to visit my spouse.

Can someone share their experiences and what I need to?

If you arrive to Canada before March, eTA is still not in force and basically you just need to buy your ticket and show up on the border. Be ready to answer some questions and convince the CBSA officer that you are coming just for a VISIT. So don't bring many suitcases/stuff/documents which may imply you are coming for good. Make sure that your welcoming party is also aware of the limitations and that you are coming for visit only. Also keep in mind that all of your personal belongings, including the phone may be inspected to verify that you are not coming to stay.

All of that which has been said, bring some ties to your country saying you have a reason to return. Also, from what's going on with me right now, don't try to keep leaving and coming back if they let you in just stay.

I was in your situation 3 days ago. Arrived at Pearson, explained that I was coming to be with my in-laws during 4,5 months, showed my return ticket, a few questions about the reason of my stay, they asked me if I had an application in process. That's it, I actually had to pass the custom and after they sent me in the immigration office. Just be patient as it took me 2 hours.

Kiki-sinche, so did they allow you to enter? And how much stay did they allow? What questions were you asked by the immigration office? Sorry to ask you so many questions but I would like to know what happens after landing so I am prepared.
