Visitor visa for my parents

Hello,
My parents have just applied for visitors visa for canada for attending my convocation ceremony.
Althought, they want to delay their visit.
I am quite confuse whether they will get a multiple entry or single and if it’s compulsary to enter canada once after the visas are accepted.
Your advice will be helpful.

It depends on the assessment made by the visa officer based on a number of factors.

and if it’s compulsary to enter canada once after the visas are accepted.

It's not compulsory
