Hello,
I am a Canadian Permanent Resident and currently residing in Canada. My son is a USA citizen and is too living with me in Canada. He is on a visitor visa status and his visa is expiring end of July 2018.
However, I have applied for his PR under family class sponsorship last month.
So, do I need to apply for his visitor visa Extension or I do nothing and it will it be taken care of since I have applied for his PR?
Thanks.
I thought the same. But when I had crossed the border the CBSA officer told me that If I apply for his PR, I don't need to apply for the extension.
Secondly, when I am trying to check the eligibility online on the cic website, it is telling to apply under the family class sponsorship rather than taking me to the visa extension page.
Is there anyone here in the same situation like me?
Thanks.

my sister is here as a visitor as well, Oct 17, 2018 - expired March 28.. She applied for extension month before expiration date even her PR under process. Your son needs to apply for extension atleast 30 days before the expiration of his visitors visa.
