I was in Canada on a S-1 Student visa that expired in February 2022. I have a work permit that allows me to work till 2025. I did not realize my student visa expired and travelled out of the country. Is there any way for me to come back to canada Without going the route of a new visa issuance (which will take 6 months). My mom is alone in Canada waiting for me and I have a job as well

on the wait times it says, application from the USA has a wait time of 64 days (compared to 170 days everywhere else). I have a valid USA visitor visa.
Can I go to USA and start my application there? I have friends I can stay with

I think that's possible. I would read through the posts in the Visitors section of the forum to see what the processing times are right now for TRVs out of the US. I'm not certain if they are actually being processed in two months or are taking longer. I'd recommend that you check that first.
