Visitor permit expiring before application comes back

I’m canadian born, my wife is American. The border guys when we drove up stamped her passport for 3 months because we didn’t have a return ticket or date. He told us to request an extension by mail.

What happens if her visitor permit expires while the application is in processing? We were hoping to submit the application and she stay until it comes back.

The visitor extension app gives Implied Status while waiting on a decision.

While waiting on decision for the extension tho right? Or does it give implied until the sponsorship application decision comes back?

Extension app. Applying for PR has ZERO to do with temporary residency status.

Cool, except if we apply for OWP that would give implied status until the decision comes back? Or did I get that wrong.

Correct but that is still the OWP app granting status, not the PR app.
