Are there any negative effects on the PR file if we apply for PA's visitor extension while PR application is in progress? We applied in June and right now our application is at 'background check in process..' stage since Nov. 2018 and PA extended visitor visa around that time, then file was transferred to Delhi in Jan. 2019.. My wife's visitor (default 6 month) is coming to an end next month and we were wondering if it would be safe to apply for visitor extension?

There would be no negative effects on the PR file if your wife applies to extend her visitor status. It is perfectly safe and you should do it now.
If she does NOT extend her visitor status (if she overstays) there MAY be negative effects, because at that point she will not be in the country legally. Also, if she applies to extend her visitor status and they refuse (I don't think it happens often) she should leave the country.

Actually, my wife came in March 2018. It was my mistake (sorry) as I should have specified clearly that we had extended her visitor visa once in Nov. instead of saying she came here. My apologies. In extension letter it was mentioned that she got "default 6 months" extension. So, we were wondering if applying for extension 2nd time cause any issue?

No, not an issue. State the reason for the extension as waiting for the ongoing sponsorship app to be processed. Don't apply until a few weeks before expiry.

Hi I am applying for my husband's visitor visa extension and just wondering what I should put under " Have you previously applied to enter or remain in Canada ?" Will this be Yes as my husband already applied for visitor visa and got approved??
Did you mention anywhere on visitor extension that you have applied for spousal PR ?
P.S: We applied for his spousal PR too. Please guide. Thank you
