So I would like to stay in Canada for longer than 6 months (a year or longer) I current live in UK. I checked if I needed a visitor visa and all it said was I needed an eta which I already have (it expires in 2022) Is there anything else I should be aware of?
Okay, so I currently have a girlfriend in Canada (She is a Canadian citizen, we have been long distancing for about 4 years, we have never lived together) and we want to start closing the gap but before we come to a solid conclusion on what we want to do, we of course need to physically date for awhile to come to that conclusion. (going back and forth on planes isn't the best way to live ) and as I understand it, if you live with your partner for about a year or so you can do a sponsorship/application for your case which might help in getting PR (I want to make that intention quite clear because that is the desired result if everything works out)
I'm also employed by a US company and work in a virtual location over the internet -- Which is how I make my money so it would be more practical to also live in the same timezone as my employer for a better quality of life. I read that I can move as temporary resident/get a TRV however this was never offered to me at any point when I checked out the Canadian immigration site.
tldr; I want to live with my Canadian girlfriend and work from my virtual location in Canada
well one option is that you can stay with her for 6 months Canada, then she can stay with you for 6 months in the UK. However, I imagine many issues here including where you're going to pay your taxes, how you're going to convince the officer that you're going to leave at the end of your stay given your employment situation.

Unfortunately she is not able to join me in the UK for 6 months as she will be studying.
I am 21 and I am indeed a British Citizen. as far as I know the IEC is a random pool with no guarantee -- However it is one of those "last resort" kind of actions I think. If there is any other options I would love to hear them.
