visit visa duration

Dear seniors,
My friend recently got V1 (visitor visa from VSF.GLOBAL ,India).But the agent brought his passport with visa from VSF.When i checked his visa in his passport and the duration is 5 years.He paid a huge amount to the agent in India .So my question is the duration of visit visa will be 5 years?How do we know that is genuine or fake?

Hi,

your friend's visit visa is valid up to 5 years. some people get multiple visa for 10 years if the passport is valid for 10 years. If your friend's passport expire in 5 years then that might explain why he got 5 years. When he enters Canada the border officer will tell him how long he can stay. Maximum stay is 6 months. If everything is done via VFS then i assume it should be a genuine TRV.
