Visit Canada for USA visa stamping, Canada pr about to expire

Hi,

I have a Canada PR which is about to expire in 10 months. I currently live in USA. I need to get US visa stamping in Canada in ottawa.

- Can I enter Canada with Canada PR Card
- Can I apply for Canada visitor visa while still having Canada PR card.

Kindly advise. Your advise will be helpful. Thanks

- Yes, you can enter Canada.
- No, you cannot apply for a TRV while you have PR status.

- I stayed outside of Canada more than 4 years while holding Canada PR. I don't meet the PR criteria. Will the Canada border security allow me to get inside the Canada.

- if they ask me the reason of visit, should I tell them Visa Stamping or visiting family friends..etc. I Need to get my USA Visa stamped in Ottawa.

As per previous answer as a PR you would be allowed into the country but given you have spent last 4 years out of the country the chances of being reported for not meeting residency are high which could ultimately result in your PR being revoked something which might even happen later if you try to renew your PR card without having met residency.
