you will have to wait at least 7-10 business days to open the package and send it to IRCC.

There is no way that you can ask them about the status. You can submit the request to escalate the process by email after 5 business days.

I'm a student in the US and applied for Canada tourist visa. After receiving my passport request, I sent my passport to NY vac on Jan 31st, using fedex including return envelope. I still didn't hear a thing and now I'm too scared after reading this thread. Please suggest what to do in my current situation.
