gap is not a problem because you were working at that time. For sources of funds, did you submit salary slips for last 4-5 months, ITR for 2 yrs, employment letter?

Vancouver is not a problem. However private intitutions can be a problem. Pick a public college or university instead. Stay far away from private schools.
The rejection stated not enough funds, it didn't say: " chose a private school."
I'd suggest you request notes for a detailed explanation of the denial. Private schools are not empty, a lot of them have high number of enrollments from international students, whose visas where obviously approved regardless of their school choice
There is a discrimination against private schools mainly because some of them don't lead to a pgwp. If that's a concern then shoot for public.
The visa officers do not use discrimination against private school as basis for denial. In fact, I recall reading on their website that if an officer has doubts about a schools legitimacy or their practices, it should/ will be reported.... You, the applicant won't be held accountable or penalized for that. And reports about such behavior include both public and private.
