Am a temporary foreign worker on a post grad work permit. I am exploring visa options for my wife to come join me in Canada. One of the options that come to my mind is to come to Canada as a visitor. However, that would allow my wife to stay with me for only a few months (and then leave Canada) whereas I would prefer that my wife stays with me for the entire duration of my work permit.
Could you advise what options are available for my wife to come to Canada? Thanks a lot.
Note: my wife is a dependent in my application for permanent residency.
If issued, your wife will be given a TRV that would expire the same day as your work permit. If your job is classified as high skilled she will be eligible for open work permit as well.
Hi,
i also have similar query if someone could advice...
I have Canadian work permit under International experience Canada (IEC)category and my query is that if my spouse can get an open work permit or not ? if so, how should it be done... if no, what other options can we explore as she holds an Indian passport (but Permanent Resident in Australia)and is not eligible under IEC...
I hold an Australian passport and yet to activate my International experience Canada Visa... I would like to take her along...should we first apply for TRV on Indian passport.. what are the chances of getting Temporary Resident visa?
one more thing... is invitation letter is mandatory to get TRV , can't i just write a letter to the embassy that I have work permit and will be visiting canada to activate the same and please issue TRV for my wife ??
Please advice me..
Thanks
