I need your help to understand the VISA validity. My wife's passport was renewed last month as that would have expired in Jan 2016. Her old passport has valid VISA till Jan 2016. Now as her current passport don't have VISA (VISA is on old passport), will there be any issue entering into Canada in such case?
Please note we are entering first time to Canada.
Anybody with similar cases who has entered into Canada, please share your experiences.

As long as the visa is valid, your wife may enter Canada, but be sure she is travelling with BOTH passports. That is a quite common occurrence and has never been a problem.

Dear All,
In Canada visa, visa must be valid in current passport, if your visa is valid in old passport, you need to get it validated on new passport to enter Canada
she will need to travel with both passports, the new and old one (with visa). She will be allowed entry as long as the visa is valid on old passport + new passport have old passport number on it.

My relative traveled with me to USA with his old and new passport..
Once landed, He scanned visa on KIOSK machine from old passport, did arrival process on the machine, got the receipt.
Went to the officer and showed him old and new passport and he just stamped new passport and wrote "VOOP" that is (Visa on other passport)
He got 6 months entry as usual.
This was USA where immigration is more stricter. Canada will follow the same and will be easier.
As in my recent visit to Canada, I just went to machine and when I went to officer they just told me leave without a stamp and officer confirmed that it is a 6 month entry and not to worry.
Good luck.
