Visa office in New York, U.S.A

Can i Directly send a WP application to the Visa office in New York, U.S.A? Or i have to go through the VAC process?
I am on a visitor visa and have an OPNP nominee certificate with a J/O. But I cannot apply within Canada since i am A visitor. I tried doing a flag polling procedure but they have not issued me the WP at the border said I needed to apply outside first.

If anyone has been in the same situation please let me know.

Im on the same situation. I have applied through the VAC process which was a stupid hassle. But finally they accepted the application and it is in process now

yes it indeed is, especially when you are on a visitor status in Canada.

Yes, that is what the website says 3 months, might be a bit faster. Let me know once you get yours, just curious how long it will take

Oh thats a long wait then lol. Btw, had another question. Did u also submit you passport along with the application? They have asked me for mine, so was wondering if we are stuck without passport till the process is done. Isnt that weird?

Yeah, I put in my passport too right away, because they will issue a TRV, and then you still have to go to the border to pick up the WP. Weird Process indeed.
I am NOC A 1123.

I have valid work permit of Canada , but right now I m in states with expired TRV ...how can I travel back to Canada ? is it ok to travel with work permit in order to enter Canada from USA BORDER ? THANKS
